Four days last week and one today--
Holidays--Hurray, hurray!
Christian and Jewish, so eclectic,
Days that make you feel electric.
How do I know such a thing, you ask,
Info more fun than a pocket flask.
One of a million New York guys
Is what I am. And what we prize
Is knowledge of the various religions
Touching us all, including pigeons.
Binding our group, on streets and in bars,
Is ownership of urban cars,
And holidays to us mean harking
Days of respite from alternate parking.
Welcome, then, O holy days,
And late-morning cafe au laits.
