Crown Heights Fire Rips Through Brownstone, Injuring 7: FDNY
The fire destroyed a brownstone on Bergen Street Tuesday night, the FDNY said.

CROWN HEIGHTS, NY – A huge fire burned through a Crown Heights brownstone Tuesday night, injuring six firefighters and one police officer, the FDNY said.
The third alarm blaze started at 910 Bergen St. around 9:15 p.m. and was not under control until after 11 p.m., said FDNY.
Six firefighters and one police officer were injured – but not seriously – during the fight to extinguish the flames, FDNY said.

FDNY Assistant Chief Roger Sakowich said three of the firefighters were hurt when a staircase collapsed underneath them, ABC News reported.
The fire came hours after a massive blaze in The Bronx left 23 injured Tuesday morning. And, on Dec. 28, the deadliest fire in the city in two decades, also in The Bronx, killed 12.
