Crown Heights Shootings Leave 2 Dead: Cops
A 53-year-old was found shot dead in Lincoln Terrace/Arthur S. Somers Park only a day after a 36-year-old was fatally shot on Buffalo Ave.
CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Two men were found shot dead in Crown Heights over the weekend, according to police.
Cops first found a 36-year-old man shot in the torso on Buffalo Avenue just after 4 a.m. on Saturday, police said. The man was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
Just one day later, in a separate incident, cops found a 53-year-old man shot in the head in Lincoln Terrace/Arthur S. Somers Park. He was pronounced dead at the park, police said.

Police believe the man, who was at a handball court at the park, was hit by a stray bullet when a shooting broke out between two nearby groups, according to the New York Post.
There were no arrests in either shooting as of Monday.

They are the latest in a shooting surge in the neighborhood as the officials face a citywide spike in gun violence.
Cops found another man, 27, shot dead in Lincoln Terrace/Arthur S. Somers Park about a month ago.
There have been 35 shooting incidents so far this year in Crown Heights' 77th Precinct, compared to just 15 during the same time period last year. They are part of a nearly 100 percent increase in shootings across northern Brooklyn, according to NYPD data.
