Josh Max carries the spirit of “music for the people” with him, fast-pickin' on a Gibson Blues King guitar and singing in a Tilbrookian, Lennonesque, Carl Perkinsian, Hankish style as well as yodeling like an Ozark mountain boy. His falsetto also goes as high as a elephant’s eye and he writes melodies and lyrics about monkeys, cats, sex, the Devil, Olive Oyl, vacations, money, blind alleys and Sunday biscuits.
Last year MPL Communications got one of his songs in a $208,000,000 Hollywood blow-'em-up called “Battleship.” Josh was also the first guy to arrange and play six guitars in a concert featuring the music of Nick Drake in the USA at Central Park Summerstage in 2005 with Robert Kirby conducting an 18-piece orchestra. He has performed in NYC, Los Angeles, Nashville, India, London, Maui, Bali, Kazahstan, China, Portugal and all parts of the tri-state area. He is sponsored by Gibson guitars and Hohner harmonicas.
