8pm- Emmet Otter Jug Band Christmas Special
Your favorite local jug band, The Salt Cracker Crazies, returns to the Way Station for their annual live retelling of the timeless holiday classic, Emmett Otter’s Jug Band Christmas. Mixing the music of Paul Williams, the storytelling of Jim Henson, as well as a steaming basket of classic hokum chestnuts, this once a year celebration of cheer and revelry is not to be missed! We may even have some special guests joining us for this year’s Frogtown Hollow talent show, but you have to be there to experience the magic.

10pm- MiWi La Lupa
Genre: Americana Folk / Indie Rock
For fans of: The Lumineers, Devotchka, Andrew Bird
Song hound MiWi La Lupa is a dreamer, a far-fetched being whose human core is as gentle and endearing as his voice. In 2005, MiWi La Lupa made it down the Hudson River from Buffalo to the city of New York, and has now found his way to Omaha, NE. A decade later, he has made impactful impressions as a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist in bands such as Red Baraat, Thought, and Knights on Earth. Now in the spotlight with his solo endeavor, MiWi La Lupa explores the redemption of self and by challenging inner inhibitions he takes a dive in the deep end, leaving listeners nothing short of a welcoming experience. La Lupa pulls at the heart strings, and with his wistful prose has the ability to uplift any grief.

“With only a mic and an acoustic guitar, La Lupa held the crowd in a trance with new songs he said he’d written this summer: “If I wasn’t plagued by rules, I’d be a goner, a goner for sure,” he sang, eyes closed in a sort of meditative state. “If she wasn’t raised by wolves, she’d be a goner…” - HearNebraska
“Through eight concise songs, he mostly sticks to a mellow folk and country rock that highlights an adept ear for songcraft, evocative moods, and scene setting.” - Soundcheck

11pm- Shareef Keyes & the Groove
Genre: Funk
For fans of: Thundercat, Janelle Monae, J Cole
Keyes’ upcoming LP Cooking Something features a new sonic climate curated by Shareef Keyes and his older brother Glo. Similar to their work on the Electronic Fox EP, the sibling duo spent countless hours at their private family-owned studio in midtown Manhattan honing a new sound that mixes Motown and jazz-funk fused with a hard hip-hop undertone. The crooner hand-selected a team of NYC’s finest instrumentalists and formed The Groove, a band of former students from Berklee College of Music and The Juilliard School, giving the Keyes brothers the ability to orchestrate live performance influenced, sample-free music.
“The multi-dimensional artist has developed his own sound that fuses P funk, hard hip-hop drums and melodic jazz chords. With his music, Shareef Keyes intends on using sonically pleasing songs to spread meaningful messages to consumers, hoping each and every listener learns and is inspired from the audio experience.” - The Source
