Katherine O'Donnell Receives $5,000 Scholarship from Municipal Credit Union
Katherine O'Donnell of Windsor Terrace, a senior at Saint Saviour High School, was awarded the James McKeon Memorial Scholarship from MCU.

Katherine O’Donnell of Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn has been named the recipient of the 2015 James McKeon Memorial Scholarship awarded by Municipal Credit Union (MCU). Katherine, who graduates from Saint Saviour High School this month and plans to attend the State University of New York at Binghamton in the fall as a biomedical engineering major, was awarded her scholarship by MCU President/CEO Kam Wong and several MCU board members at a special ceremony held at MCU’s headquarters in Manhattan on June 4.

Katherine is one of eight recipients of MCU’s 2015 memorial scholarships. In 2015, MCU awarded $66,000 in scholarships to college-bound graduating high school seniors: eight memorial scholarships of $5,000 each and 13 grants of $2,000 each. Eligibility for the MCU scholarships was open to an MCU member, a child, or a grandchild of a member in good standing. Selection was based on academic performance, extracurricular and community activities, letters of recommendation, and an essay expressing personal goals. The scholarships are part of MCU’s long-standing, larger corporate commitment to youth education and financial literacy across New York City.
