Out in Alabama is a documentary about the brave Alabama communities that embrace LGBT rights. Produced/directed by Brooklyn-based filmmaker and Alabama-native Bonnie Blue Edwards, with Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Cynthia Wade consulting, the project is currently seeking funds through Kickstarter. Come check out the promo video and some behind-the-scenes details before Bonnie jets off to Alabama for the first round of filming (fingers crossed)!

Alex Smith is a 21-year-old folk artist from the center of the Adirondack Mountains in Northern New York. He is currently touring behind his third album, Hamilton County, which features the prominent themes in Smith’s career, which are promoting a sense of pride in the traditions of one’s culture, while at the same time speaking about the issues presented to it in modern times. Smith’s music is gritty and it is real.

Based in Brooklyn, Marta Hernández, (aka Mar Salá) is an international singer songwriter, a self taught musician from Seville, Spain. With the collaboration of many accomplished musicians from all over the world, she mixes Latin sounds such as Rumba Flamenca, Brazilian rhythms and Spanish pop, with swing and Rock.

Dahlia Dumont and her band DecaDence play reggae sultry ballads, tango, samba, and more in both French and English. The music brings out the different faces of the accordion, with French, Argentine, and TexMex influences fused in. The band hails from France, Argentina, Japan, California, south Texas, and beloved Brooklyn, and each member brings their own to their groovy, and thought-provoking sound.
