10pm- El Niño
Genre: Indie Rock, Prog-Rock, Post-Rock
For fans of: The Strokes, Tame Impala, Pink Floyd, The Killers, The Black Keys
El Niño is an emminently ungoogleable band from Brooklyn. The beer-themed trio hail from California, Connecticut, and Vermont, and blend their diverse interests to create a funky, post- and indie-rock influenced groove. El Niño, their first EP, moves between fun, pop influenced songs about love and loss to ethereal rock anthems about love and loss. Their yet-untitled second EP recently finished recording, and finds El Nino developing their sound, incorporating polyrhythm, harmony, and danceable grooves, all to the themes of love and loss. Regulars of The Rock Shop and the (late) Trash Bar, El Niño strives to put meaning in your life and a twitch in your booty.

11pm- Olympus Records
Genre: 90’s Rock
For fans of: Third Eye Blind, Nirvana, nostalgia in general
What if the heroes of the Greek tragedies were in a 90’s rock band? And what if that band broke up? And then what if they were all the different 90’s singers you’ve forgotten you loved?
“While the combination of ideas in this play appear to be ambitious when written on paper, the ideas presented to the audience were not only easy to follow, but extremely fun to watch as the cast was able to cause many uproars of laughter. All in all, Olympus Records is a hit.” – stagebuddy.com (http://stagebuddy.com/reviews/fringenycreviewolympusrecords)
“What I find most exciting about this show, though, is what it foreshadows. This is a good musical, more than acceptable festival fare. But when I look at the potential this group of young artists has and what they have accomplished with Olympus Records, I know that a few years from now I am going to see one or more of these kids in something really big and say, “I saw him or her in Olympus Records, before they were big.” – nytheatreguide.com (http://nytheatreguide.com/2014/08/fringereviewolympusrecordsattheatre80newyorkcity/)
