10pm- Shane Jacob Philips / Social Justice & Peace
Genre: Folk, Singer Songwriter, Political
For fans of: What if Marvin Gaye sang Bob Dylan tunes?
Social Justice and Peace is Shane Philips’ latest release in two years and is a departure from his last three albums that were rooted deeply in traditional soul. Searching for something more, Philips decided to immerse himself into a community of folk artists and was able to focus his songwriting around stories that spoke to his life growing up in a farm town and countless other events that would eventually shape his life as he traveled around the world. Philips eventually found himself at a piano in Nashville Tennessee where his roots in soul finally found convergence with the narrative he was searching for in folk music. Social Justice and Peace does what it says by speaking to the ideas that used to unite the world but now divide us. His message asks us to look inward and act outward with the idea that love is the universal fabric that holds humanity together.
“What a great track, Love it, and what a voice!”—Allen Powell, Solar Radio- UK
“Philips is very much his own man and his command of the genre — both as composer and singer of great distinction and emotional power — is impressive” —Greg Quill, Toronto Star

11pm- Elad Cohen Trio
Genre: Jazz
For fans of: J.J. Johnson, Stevie Wonder, Duke Ellington
Drawing on inspiration from early jazz to todays music, The Elad Cohen Trio blends Jazz, Funk, Blues, and Latin jazz into exciting sets of music.
Much of the music is filled with grooves for your body and soul to dance to, while some is for your mind and heart. Trombonist Elad Cohen leads the band with his powerful sound and slippery fast slide, Nadav Lachish effortlessly holds down masterful grooves and elegant lines, and Eran Fink sends the band in swinging new directions and excites the crowd with his energetic solos.
