Panel Discussion: "The Cape Dorset Print Legacy" at the Brooklyn Museum. Oct. 18. 2PM

Since the 1950s, the groundbreaking Kinngait Studios in Cape Dorset, Canada, has played a central role in fostering and promoting Canadian Inuit art, primarily through its renowned annual Cape Dorset print collection.

Join us for this discussion with artists, curators, and collectors about the legacy of the Studios and the Cape Dorset collection, and about Inuit art within the broader context of contemporary art worldwide.

Toronto-based curator and writer Nancy Campbell moderates, and panelists include Cape Dorset artists Saimaiyu Akesuk and Papiara Tukiki (see photo above), Susan Kennedy Zeller, Associate Curator of Native American Art, Brooklyn Museum; and New York collector Edward J. Guarino.

Held in collaboration with Dorset Fine Arts, this event celebrates the 56th Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection, which includes thirty-one prints and is being released on Saturday, October 17, 2015.
