Scott Krokoff + Roger Silverberg + Jessica Rowboat + Danny Jonokuchi @ The Way Station

8pm- Scott Krokoff
Genre: Americana
For fans of: Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, The Eagles, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Paul Simon
Scott plays Americana-flavored folk-rock and pop, primarily influenced by his love of music from the 60s and 70s. He is an acoustic-based songwriter whose songs are driven by their melodies. Vocally, he sounds like a combination of Jackson Browne and Glen Phillips. He is both a fingerpicker and strummer, fusing the fingerpicking styles of James Taylor, Paul Simon and Lindsay Buckingham, and incorporating the country-rock of Neil Young and The Eagles and the roots rock of Tom Petty.
“Realizations and Declarations is a winner! Definitely one worth repeating.” – Joshua Smotherman of Middle Tennessee Music - http://www.midtnmusic.com/realizations-and-declarations-with-scott-krokoff/
“The folk music is pop-driven with catchy rhythms and melodies, and roots-driven with throbbing B3-type sounds. … All of the songs emanate a sense of folk/rock with good clear vocals and infectious hooks.” – Matthew Forss of Inside World Music - http://insideworldmusic.blogspot.com/2013/05/cd-review-scott-krokoffs-realizations.html
“Musicians like Scott Krokoff, and God knows there aren't many, are returning to a pre mid-1980s synth revolution to tap into a world of melody and analog, where lovely songs of self-awareness rule.” – Iman Lababedi of Rock NYC Live and Recorded - http://www.rocknycliveandrecorded.com/2013/02/scott-krokoffs-realizations-declarations-ep-reviewed.h...

9pm- Roger Silverberg
Genre: Singer/Songwriter, Blue-Eyed Soul, Retro Pop
For fans of: Hall & Oates, Josh Rouse, Josh Ritter, Mark Knopfler
Folky soul singer/songwriter Roger Silverberg taught himself to play by soaking in the sounds he heard on the AM radio dial in the late 50s through the 60s. That fertile period, rich in musical diversity in a musically rich city like Philadelphia, figures prominently as a foundation for his own songs. A relocation to New York in 1982 placed Roger squarely in the middle of the active Greenwich Village scene. Roger played the open mics, on the street, and at some of the venues that are still operating some thirty years on. The New York experience triggered a wave of new songs, some of which Roger still puts into his set. After performing steadily from the early 1970s through the mid‐1980s, by late 1986 Roger stepped back from live performance to attend to parental responsibilities. However, by 1998, with the children a little more self‐ reliant, the song writing returned and with it so did Roger to live performance. Roger is currently touring regionally to support Major Seventh Heaven, his third released album.
“Roger doesn’t try to disguise his roots in ‘60s pop and ‘70s soft rock. Rather, he chooses to celebrate it in a set of classic feeling songs.” Geoffrey Armes, Inside Connection Magazine
“Songs from the heart. Like a 21st century Cat Stevens.” Theresa Dieso, Long Valley Patch

For fans of: 15
Jessica Rowboat grew up in between hill stations and New Delhi in the north of India before coming to New York at 8 years old to watch as her parents and older brother pursued music. She attended LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts where she was trained in chamber music, gospel choir, jazz hands, theater, and song writing that tied them all together in a folky blend. She is fondest of deliberate disconcerting situations, washtub bass, wolverine, and Gouda cheese. She is not very fond of serious conversation. Jessica lives in Queens, New York with her husband and their shih tzu, Frodo.
