Channeling the rustic industrial Victorian-ish style, this locally-owned eclectic cafe with a large steel lotus hanging above the handmade teak bar, is adorned with looking glass mirrors and artwork from different walks of life. The menu celebrates healthy eating, using Bob's Red Mill gluten-free flours, Garden of Life coconut oil while combining produce, meats and breads from local organic merchants and the owners simplistic yet savory recipes. Signature items include: open faced tacos, huevos rancheros and organic waffles topped with freshly made whipped cream, fruit and served with pure maple syrup. Salem's Hour is a dine-in restaurant, open daily, serving breakfast (all day) and lunch. Dinner, cocktails and brunch coming soon. Conveniently located in the residential community of Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn on Nostrand Avenue between Maple and Midwood Avenue, nestled in an ethnically diverse community, with a population rich with Caribbean-American and African-Americans. PLG, as locals call it, has been gentrifying over the last few years as real estate development has heightened and the streets are filling up with newcomers.
