Threats Against Peaceful BK Protesters On NYPD Scanner: Report
"Shoot those motherf------" and "Run them over" were overheard on a police scanner as a peaceful crowd approached a Crown Heights precinct.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A crowd protesting the killing of George Floyd walked through Crown Heights with violence in the air.
No, not from the peaceful demonstrators on Monday — from over NYPD's police airwaves, the Gothamist first reported.
Police scanner listeners overheard someone — it's unconfirmed whether it was a cop — utter threatening remarks as protesters marched down Dean Street headed toward the NYPD's 77th Precinct in Crown Heights, Gothamist reported.

That was overheard at about 6:20 p.m., shortly before a Patch reporter shot a video of the crowd chanting peacefully and moving down Dean Street to cheers from the neighborhood.
At about 7 p.m., someone on the scanner reported the crowd was blocking traffic at Dean Street and Albany Avenue, Gothamist reported.
"Run them over," a voice responded, according to the report.
Gothamist couldn't confirm whether the voices were from police or scanner interference. NYPD officials told Gothamist they'd review the chatter.
The protest began in Bed-Stuy with clear leadership by the December 12th Movement, a local group. Many of the chants were pointed toward police brutality and racism, but the demonstrators assembled peaceably.
They were greeted at the 77th Precinct by police in riot gear, but there was no violence from either protesters or cops.

Other George Floyd rallies in Brooklyn unfolded peacefully, as well, in contrast to unrest of parts of Manhattan and the Bronx. Looters struck several Midtown stores, including Macy's, and a NYPD officer was attacked in the Bronx.
