Pair Caught With Heroin During Traffic Stop: Police

The passenger in the vehicle also tried to give a false name, police say.

MANORVILLE, NY — Two individuals were caught with heroin during a Manorville traffic stop, police said.

According to New York State Police, on Dec. 28 at 7:20 p.m., driver Janayah Brown, 19, of Middle Island and passenger T.J. Moore, 24, of Mastic Beach were stopped for a vehicle and traffic violation while driving on Schultz Rd.

Upon further investigation, Brown and Moore were both found to be in possession of heroin, arrested, and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Moore was also charged with false personation after giving a false name, police said.

Both were given appearance tickets and are due back in Riverhead Justice Court on Jan. 7, police said.
