Last East End duck arm hatching comeback (timesreview.com) — Riverhead Town readers may be encouraged to hear that Crescent Duck Farm in Aquebogue, the last remaining East End duck farm, has restarted full production after a devastating 2025 bird flu outbreak. Owner Doug Corwin has rehired most laid-off workers, strengthened biosecurity, and is cautiously rebuilding the business that once stood among dozens of duck farms in Brookhaven, Southampton and Riverhead.

Gerard Giordano, Richie Davidowitz, Brandon Hubbard And Sal Accardi Jr. Scores Wins At Riverhead Raceway (racedayct.com) — Racing fans in Riverhead just saw major championship drama play out at Riverhead Raceway, where Patrick Emerling tightened his NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour title grip and local divisions ran their penultimate races. Late Models, Legends, Street Stocks and Vintage All Stars all crowned key winners, with several Riverhead-area drivers still locked in tight points battles heading into championship weekend.
   

4. Nassau's new on-demand minibus route part of 'microtransit' trend on Long Island (newsday.com) — New Suffolk County bus service will soon include an express route linking Riverhead to Hicksville, as part of a broader shift toward on-demand "microtransit" across Long Island. Officials say the changes should improve efficiency without raising fares, though some advocates worry riders losing fixed routes may face less predictable commutes. Riders will pay $2.25 per trip when the new routes launch.
