A look at what some Rivertowns all-stars are doing on college teams.

Spotlight on Tara Gabelman, Irv. '10 Basketball

Picking up where she left off during the Christmas hiatus, Tara Gabelman continued her assault on Connecticut College records at home with Eastern Ct. on Jan. 2, as she had her sixth double-double game, with a team high of 18 points, as well as a team high of 11 rebounds in the 57-47 win.

A 2011 graduate of in Dobbs Ferry, Tina Hinman is the diver for the Washington U. of St. Louis women's swim team. In the first six meets of the season, she has faced divers in six meets—starting on Sept. 30 and most recently, on Dec. 3. In the meets, where she dove in both 1-meter and 3-meter events, she has earned third place seven times and fifth place twice. Hinman's top performances were in the 1 meter dives, where she earned 149.85 at DePauw, and at Drury on Nov. 18, 312.60,

while competing in 3-meter diving, she had 153.35 points in a dual meet at U. of Chicago on Nov. 5, and 301.15 on Nov. 18, also at Drury.

BASKETBALL:

In the opener at the Maine Maritime Tourney on Jan. 2, Salve Regina dropped their game to the host five, 51-42, as Lisa Bucci (Irv. '10) scored 4 points on a layup, plus draining both of her foul tries, in addition to having 1 board, 1 assist, and a steal in the game, while in the consolation game on the 3rd with Middlebury, she had 1 steal in the 64-46 win, as the record now stands at 3-5 .

At the D3Hooks Classic in Las Vegas on Dec. 29th, the Skidmore Thoroughbreds topped the Merchant Marine Academy, as Kevin Dahill (DF '10) had 1 rebound and 1 steal in the 72-56 win. Facing Ursinus there on the 30th, he had 2 boards in the 67-46 win. The record is 6-2 .

Hosting Eastern Ct. on the 4th, New Paltz routed their guests, 72-41, as Pippa Mansdorf (H'10) , in her most active game yet (28 minutes), had a layup for 2 points , helped the Hawks further with 5 defensive rebounds and 6 assists, with the record now 4-7.

Ashley Riefenhauser (D.F.'11) registered her first points of the season in a home game with St. Anselms on 12/30 , a field goal, as her winless Nyack College Warriors fell to their guests , 91-33. She started the game at Bloomfield on the 4th , an 81-51 setback, and had 3 points on 1-5 from the field and 1-2 at the foul line. In addition , she had 2 boards, 3 assists, and 2 steals in 26 playing minutes, as the record fell to 0-9 .
