Driver Arrested in Connection with Wrong-Way Crash that Killed Police Detective
The Accident occurred late last month on the Sprain Brook in Greenburgh.
Yonkers resident Efren Moreano, 20, was charged with Vehicular Manslaughter 2nd Degree (Class D Felony) Monday in connection with a wrong-way crash on the Sprain Brook Parkway that killed NYPD Det. Paul E. Duncan, state police announced.
Moreano has been hospitalized at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla since the crash, recovering from his injuries sustained in crash, and he was arraigned at the facility before Westchester County Superior Court Judge Robert Neary.

Wrong-Way Driver Causes Fatal Crash on the Sprain Brook Parkway
Moreano is believed to have traveled about two miles in the wrong direction on the Sprain Brook before his car slammed head-on in the vehicle Duncan was driving.
According to police, Moreano “was intoxicated at the time of the collision and had a blood alcohol content of .11 percent.”
Following the arraignment, Moreano was remanded to the custody of the Westchester County Department of Corrections without bail, and he is scheduled to return to the Town of Greenburgh Court on March 13.
