In Photos: Honoring the Champion Eagles in Dobbs Ferry

Residents crowded the village plaza yesterday evening to honor the Dobbs Ferry Eagles varisty football team — the 2011 New York State Class 'C' Football Champions.

After reading an official proclamation to name the day in their honor, Dobbs Ferry Mayor Hartley Connett welcomed Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D-Yonkers). "There are 62 senators," she said, "and I'm the only one who can say, 'You are the champions.'"

Before the parade, carolers from Dobbs Ferry Middle and High School choirs and the Hudson Valley Singers strolled Cedar Street, and people of all ages spent quality time with Santa.
