Girls Basketball: Irvington Defeats Dobbs on Senior Day (Photos)
The seniors from both teams were recognized at Senior Day as Irvington defeated Dobbs Ferry 77 to 33.
Irvington Girls Basketball defeated Dobbs Ferry 77-33 as Irvington honored their seniors prior to the game. Lady Bulldogs underclassmen honored Lucy Jones, Jaime Gelardi, and Marley Giddins with poems, flowers and collages. Dobbs Ferry seniors Midori Kahara and Jeena Corradino were also recognized and received flowers.
Irvington got off to a quick start with Jaime Gelardi hitting a 3 pointer. IHS maintained the pressure and the first quarter ended with the Bulldogs leading 23-6. The Eagles mounted a rally and played Irvington evenly in the second quarter with both teams scoring 11 points.
The second half was all Irvington as they increased their lead behind the tough play of Ryan McMahon. Brittni Lai, Lexi Martins and Marley Giddins were unstoppable as the Lady Bulldogs outscored Dobbs Ferry 43-16.

Lexi Martins was impressive leading all scorers with 22 points and 21 rebounds. Marley Giddins added 15 points and 5 assists and Brittni Lai had 15 points and 6 assists. For Dobbs Chrissy Whitty had 9 points and Alyssa Chipelo ended with 7 points.
Irvington won the league and both teams will be getting ready for the Sectional tournament. The first round will be on February 17th, games to be announced.
