Participate in Peter K. Oley 5K Trail Run Sunday
Help keep Irvington's cross-country team up and running.

Irvington's cross-country team is known not only for its excellence out on the trail, but in the classroom as well—earning top academic accolades year after year.
Coach Chris Barry hopes to see his 36-member team continue to thrive—encouraging the Rivertowns community to participate in Sunday's 3rd Annual Peter K. Oley 5K Trail Run to raise funds for the program.
There's no entry fee; Barry just asks runners to donate to the team.

"This is a way of thinking outside the box to pay for staffing needs," Bary said. "We're doing what we can to keep the program going; parents have been incredibly generous and supportive."
The event is named for Peter Oley, Irvington's legendary track and cross-country coach who led the team for 50 years.

"He was larger than life," Barry said of his predecessor who died two years ago.
"We have a nice group of talented kids—so come out, run and support the team this Sunday."
