Williams has big day for Mercy

Thanks to the Mercy College Sports Information Department for the below submissions:

Four women's basketball players reached double digits in points Friday (Dec. 30) in a four-point loss at Chestnut Hill College. Senior Jasmine Williams led the squad with 13 points and 14 rebounds for the double-double.

Severe foul trouble limited several Mavericks regulars' minutes as the game wound down, as Mercy led as late as 5:13 remaining.

Mercy men almost come back

Fantastic game Dec. 30 as the Mercy College men’s basketball team nearly pulled off an incredible, 24-point comeback against Ohio Dominican University on Friday evening in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.   

Mercy came all the way back and grabbed its first lead of the game with 3:03 remaining in the second half, but ODU eventually held on for the 74-67 victory.

Rivertown Knights win

There is nothing like a thriller in basketball, especially when you win, and that is what the Rivertown Knights experienced playing Somers.

The Rivertown Knights defeated Somers 31-30 Dec. 16 in the fifth-grade boys A division of the Tri-County Basketball League.
