A number of Rivertowns athletes competed in the Westchester County Indoor Track & Field Championships Jan. 29. Brendan Wortner, Dobbs Ferry High School, won the county title in the 3,200 meters in 9:36.

At Brockport, Geneseo dropped a 71-63 game to their hosts, with Ryan Riefenhauser (D.F. '09) 2nd high in team high scoring, with 14 points, with the record now 8-12:6-4.
In a swim meet at Geneseo, Oswego lost to the Blue Knights, 171-112, with Katie Flood (H '10) and her 200 Medley Relay quartet finishing 4th, with a time of 1:57.26, and then, in the 200 Freestyle, she placed 2nd, at 2:05.62. She was also runner up in the 200 Breaststroke, clocked at 2:27.58, and then won the 200 Freestyle, in 1:44.60.
At St. Olav, the Carleton College men's swim team lost by a score of 181-117, with Jesse Gourevitch (Ards. '10) and his 200 Medley Relay team copping their event, timed at 1:36.77, while in the 100 Breaststroke, his time of 1:02.76 earned him 4th place, while he was 5th in the 200 Breaststroke (2:09.28)and in the 200 Individual Medley, he was 8th, in 2:10.86.
In a home swim meet with Army and Lafayette, the Colgate Red Raiders lost to the Cadets, 167-118, and topped the Leopards, 206-84. Tavy Smith (D.F. '10) and his 200 Medley Relay foursome finished 2nd, with a clocking of 1:37.61, while he was 6th in the 100 Breaststroke, timed at 1:02.15.
He was 7th in the 200 Breaststroke, at 2:22.41, and wound up 6th in the 100 Butterfly, clocked at 56.48. The Raiders are 2-6 on the season
In a losing wrestling meet at Wesleyan, 21-11, Derrick Longo (A '09), of Springfield, defeated his 165 opponent, 7-1. The record is now 8-2.
