Youth wrestling tourney

Talk about a youth wrestling event to remember! Pleasantville High School hosted the first-annual Pleasantville Youth Wrestling Tournament on Jan. 22.

The tournament consisted of 288 boys and girls between the ages of five and 12 from Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess and Fairfield counties.

BASKETBALL:

Ashley Riefenhauser's Nyack Warriors still sought their initial win of the campaign at home with Concordia on the 10th, as the Warriors rallied back from an early 26-6 deficit to tie the game at the end of regulation. In overtime, a last second deuce from a visitor , gave the Clippers a 74-72 win.

Riefenhauser (D.F. '11) had a basket in the game, plus 1 each in assists and blocks. Hosting the Post University Eagles of Waterbury, Ct. on the 12th, the Warriors' 11-game losing streak came to its end, as they topped their guests, 71-60, with Ashley contributing 5 points on a trey and 2-2 at the courtesy stripe, plus having 3 boards and a steal in the win.
