Rochester Vision Zero report details safety gains and 2026 plans (democratandchronicle.com) — Rochester's first ROC Vision Zero progress report outlines $33.4 million in safety investments and a push for a citywide 25 mph speed limit to cut serious crashes. After past controversy over red-light cameras, the city is focusing on traffic-calming, safer walking and biking, and expanded outreach around schools, R-Centers, bus stops, and other high-risk areas through 2026.
   

2. Red Wings release 2027 schedule: Opening Day earliest in team history (whec.com) — Rochester baseball fans can already circle Friday, March 26, 2027, when the Red Wings open at home against the Syracuse Mets in the earliest opener in team history. The 2027 schedule includes multiple home series against Syracuse and Buffalo at ESL Ballpark, coinciding with the 150th anniversary of professional baseball in Rochester and offering plenty of early spring and summer game options.
   

3. Rochester breaks ground on Genesee Crossroads Park as part of a bigger plan to bring the riverway back to life (whec.com) — Work is underway to transform Rochester's Genesee Crossroads Park, improving river access, ADA accessibility, and trail connections as part of the broader Roc the Riverway revitalization. Nearby projects like the Sister Cities Bridge upgrades, Austin Steward Plaza, convention center renovations, and Roc City Skate Park expansion aim to boost downtown recreation, business activity, and residents' sense of community and mental well-being.
   

4. Latest RRH acquisition expands dermatology services in the region (rbj.net) — Rochester Regional Health has added Rochester Dermatologic Surgery in Victor, expanding access to general dermatology, Mohs surgery, and cosmetic injectables for patients across the greater Rochester area. The Victor office will keep its services and staff while gaining the resources and surgical capacity of the larger RRH system, aiming to bring specialty skin care closer to where local residents live and work.
   

5. Manifest Technologies is rewriting the rules of lens manufacturing (rbj.net) — Rochester's Luminate NY accelerator is helping Manifest Technologies scale a new 3D manufacturing platform for ultra-precise smart lenses and optical components. By tapping local optics expertise, testing facilities, and supply chains, the startup is preparing to deliver its first industrial systems, compete for state-backed funding, and potentially expand operations while advancing applications from AR glasses to medical devices.
