Kodak retiree discovers unique tardigrade species in Finger Lakes (rochesterfirst.com) — A Rochester-based Kodak retiree turned amateur scientist has discovered a previously unknown tardigrade species while researching at the RMSC Cumming Nature Center in the Finger Lakes. Working with a Seneca Nation language expert, she helped name Mesocrista ojagwaji and plans to keep exploring local microscopic life.

Woman reunites with rescuer who pulled her from I-490 crash (whec.com) — A woman injured in Wednesday's multi-car crash on I-490 near downtown Rochester has now met the stranger who pulled her from her overturned SUV. During a hospital interview, she thanked him and other bystanders who rushed through smoke and traffic to carry her to safety before EMTs arrived.
