Business Q&A: RVC Gourmet

The place for "Hometown Heroes."

Since RVC Gourmet opened its doors on North Long Beach Road last month, the deli and catering service has been enticing customers with tasty sandwiches, salads and wraps. Owner Mike O’Reilly tells us how he keeps local residents well-fed and coming back for more.

Since you’re new in town, why did you choose RVC as your location?

This side of town was desperately in need of a good old-fashioned deli!

Tell us a bit about what you offer.

We make hot food daily. We also serve chopped salads, homemade soup, paninis, wraps, potato salad, chicken salad and much more. We offer full catering services, too. We can pretty much make anything that you can think of. If you don’t see it on the menu, just ask.

What are some of your most popular menu selections?

People really seem to love our paninis and our chopped salads. Those are definitely two of our biggest requests. The kids in town often come in for the Cowboy hero, which is a specialty hero with bologna, cheese, lettuce and tomato.

Do you offer any special deals to your customers?

We offer free delivery for any orders of $20 or more. We also have a convenient feature on our website, rvcgourmet.com, where you can place your order online and it will come right to our fax machine rather than having to call the deli or come in.

What sets RVC Gourmet apart from other delis?

We pride ourselves on our customer service and our experienced staff. The staff is very well trained and most of us have been in the business for a long time. In fact, I have four employees working behind the counter who have owned their own delis in the past. We just want to make sure that all of our customers are taken care of so that they have a good experience and come back again.
