Business Q&A: The Village Framer

Since 1978, John Lucey has taken on the job of being “The Village Framer” with relative ease. Operating out of a small shop on South Village Avenue, Lucey can frame almost anything his customers desire. Here, he describes what it’s like to operate the local business. 

What kind of services do you offer? 

Complete custom framing.

What do most of your customers want framed?

Artwork, diplomas and pictures. 

Do you have a busiest time of year?

Not really. We’re pretty consistent all year round. 

How has the business changed since you opened in 1978?

Basically it’s the same, but people do want a higher quality product (today).

What do you like about operating in Rockville Centre?

I’ve lived here for 40 years. I’ve always liked this neighborhood. It’s clean and the people are nice.
