Indoor Garden Display

Now that spring is here, what better time to take advantage of the sunny weather? Surround yourself with plants and create an indoor garden display. Not only will it bring a smile to your face, but it will brighten up any room in the house.

First off, pick a sunny spot by a window so it's guaranteed your living lovelies will get enough light. Once you do that, decide on what you're going to use and what kind of plants you want. Take a step back and try to imagine what will look cool in the space. Get creative and have fun!

While deciding on what plants to choose, pick ones that match your lifestyle. If you're busy and not home much of the day, I would suggest succulents. Cacti are great as well. They don't need to be watered daily and all they require is lots of light. If you're around more, then go nuts. Mix it up and make your garden look pretty.

Try to think outside the box when choosing vessels. You don't have to be traditional and use pots. I used old wooden crates and a variety of unique pots. You can put a plant in anything. Just make sure you lay some rocks on the bottom for drainage. Then just add dirt and plant!

For objects that may have holes or an open bottom, lay down plastic wrap or something similar to hold everything and keep the plant secure. You don't want water leaking through.

Create a theme when constructing your display. Add some whimsy with cute little figurines and other objects. I included birdcages, branches and vintage glass bottles. I also mixed it up with moss to add some texture and variety.

Now everytime I look over at my little world, it brings joy to my day. I don't have many windows in my apartment so I didn't have much of a choice of which window to use. However, I'm very happy with the outcome. Now get planting!
