• Explosive material scare investigated at Air Force facility in Rome (newportdispatch.com) — An early-morning scare at the Air Force Research Lab campus on Brooks Road in Rome briefly shut the facility and rerouted traffic after a visiting commercial vehicle triggered an alert for possible explosives. Rome Police, Oneida County Sheriff's deputies, State Police bomb experts, and Rome Fire all responded, and investigators ultimately found no explosive material, turning the case over to Air Force officials.
   

• Man arrested on domestic violence charges in Rome (newportdispatch.com) — A 41-year-old Rome man was arrested Tuesday after Oneida County deputies and probation officers responded to a domestic incident on Pine Haven Circle, leading to multiple felony domestic violence and weapon charges. Authorities say he resisted arrest before being taken into custody, arraigned at the county jail, and held on bail, while victims were connected with support services through the Sheriff's Office and YWCA.
   

• Pamal to Acquire Galaxy's New York Radio Stations (talkers.com) — Listeners in the Utica–Rome area will soon hear familiar stations under new ownership as Pamal Broadcasting takes over Galaxy Media's Syracuse and Utica outlets, including ESPN Utica/Rome, starting Oct. 1 under an FCC-pending deal. The acquisition extends Pamal's reach from the New York City region through the Hudson Valley all the way to Central New York.
