Are You Moving Forward With Your Life? Or Does STRESS & ANXIETY Keep You Stuck? by Amy Reissner Holistic RN

This blog is for women who are feeling 'stuck' in their life, or feeling a lack or progress in moving forward with their life goals.

The spring weather has finally arrived in time for Memorial Day Weekend, next week! I hope the sun is bringing you good cheer, a feeling of well-being, and a sense of freedom that adds bounce to your step!

Do you feel like you are moving forward with your life and accomplishing the goals you set for yourself back in January? Are you making good choices for yourselves and are you reaping the results and benefits that you desire?

For myself, I am moving forward with a new space for my Vital Essence Healing practice, which is extremely exciting. It has been something that has been in the back of my mind since January, but the timing for it arrived just last week, and as I am an Energy Medicine Practitioner, I flow with the movement of opportunities that life offers to me.

As a mother of two children ages 17 and 12 (in the Rye City School district), I chose to work part-time out of my home office, so that I can arrange my schedule around chauffering my children to and from school, as well as to their other activities.

With the arrival of my son's senior driving license, I have been able to delegate some of the driving tasks to him, and this has enabled me to move forward with my life's calling as a holistic health practitioner.

In my blog, The Deepening of the Super Woman Complex, I discussed the idea of knowing my dharma, an Indian term for life path or calling. I have always recognized that I have two dharmas and the priority has always been my family and children.

Every woman makes different choices. Some choose to go for the career track; others the stay-at-home mother track. I combined these two options. Staying home with my children allowed me the perfect flexibility to pursue my studies in holistic education and also work part-time. While it may have slowed down my professional path, it was the 'right' choice for me. Now my time has come, and while I am not going to work 5 days/week, but instead 2-3 full days at my new 'office', I can still have balance in my life with work and family.

So the 2 questions I ask women to consider, as they approach the 4th or 5th decade of their life is: What is your Dharma? Are you taking steps to move towards that goal? Or is something obstructing your path?

Sometimes making changes can be challenging. For some, the insecurity of taking a new direction, a lack of confidence, and familiarity with the status quo can keep you stuck in old patterns that no longer serve you.

For some, the idea of making a change can be exceedingly stressful and creates more anxiety than the excitement that a new venture might bring. If ANXIETY, STRESS, FRUSTRATION, RESENTMENT, ANGER, a lack of confidence or a not knowing what path to pursue, is coming up for you, then you might want to try a couple of my terrific STRESS-BUSTING ENERGY EXERCISES that I recommend to my clients!

Stay tuned for my next blog where I will detail them for you!
