Heard in Rye Series Returns with 21st Century Parenting Strategies
Popular community lecture series on parenting strategies and issues is back next week with expert on child-rearing expert Dr. Ron Taffel.

Let's face it, raising children is a complex endeavor. Everyday parents make decisions they hope will steer their children safely through sometimes choppy social waters and difficult life situations. More information and additional support are two things any parent could use.
This year's first presentation of the popular Heard in Rye series will take place next Tuesday, September 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room, 3 Parsons Street, Rye, NY.
The first topic is "Childhood Unbound: Saving Our Kids' Best Selves." Dr. Ron Taffel, author of Childhood Unbound, will present his strategies for contemporary child-rearing.

Taffel will details strategies he offers in his book for imparting values, dealing with challenging behavior from children, and disclipine.
Dr. Taffel, a father of two children, founded the Family Therapy Division at theInstitute for Contemporary Psychotherapy in New York City, and serves as Chairman of the Institute’s Board of Directors. Now in private practice in Manhattan. Taffel was also the first psychologist to become Director of Treatment at the Child and Adolescent Treatment Division of Downstate Medical Center, according to information released by Rye City Schools. He will also have copies of his book available on site.

A number of parent groups from Rye as well as surrounding Rye Brook and Rye Neck organizations came together to sponsor this series of informative presentations for parents on issues that impact children today.
The series brings together groups from the Rye City School District to its individual school parents' organizations, area private and parochial school parent associations and various nursery school groups to co-sponsor the lecture series of six events throughout the academic year.
The presentations will also be broadcast on Rye City TV (RCTV).
