The initial arrest stems from an incident in which Cassano, who was believed to be intoxicated, fought with her boyfriend in a Fairfield University parking lot and she later allegedly assaulted the responding police officers, including kicking one in the knees and hitting another in the chest with a closed fist, according to the Citizen.
After Cassano was taken to police headquarters and released to the custody of her mother, the Citizen reports that a patrol officer observed a car moving erratically on North Benson Road and discovered that it was driven by one of Cassano’s parents and the erratic driving was caused by Jennifer Cassano’s attempt to climb into the driver’s seat.
