Port Chester Man Arrested In Rye Town Beach Attack On Teen Girl: RPD
The 21-year-old was already free on bail in connection with an arrest for a criminal sexual act first degree in Suffolk County.

RYE, NY — A man accused of violently attacking a teenage girl in a late night assault at Rye Town Beach is now in custody.
The Rye Police Department arrested Richard A. Olmino, 21, of Port Chester, in connection with an assault that occurred shortly after midnight on June 23.
The attack at Rye Town Park on Forest Avenue, between Dearborn and Oakland Beach Avenues, triggered a multi-agency search for the suspect. The victim, a 16-year-old girl, reported being initially engaged in conversation with the man before being tackled and assaulted.

He then reportedly threatened the teen, saying that he was armed with a knife, although no weapon was displayed. The assault was interrupted by a security officer at the park.
Olmino, who at the time of his arrest was free on bail in connection with an arrest for a criminal sexual act first degree in Suffolk County, was arrested in Port Chester and charged with sexual abuse in the first degree, a class D felony.

Additional charges are pending, according to police.
Olmino was processed at the City of Rye Police Department, arraigned, and remanded to the Westchester County Jail with no bail to return to Rye Court on Tuesday.
The Rye Police Department said it was assisted by the Westchester County Police, the Westchester County District Attorney's Office, the FBI, and the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
