Wendy Adler Runs for Blind Brook School Board
Today we talk to Blind Brook school board candidate Wendy Adler. Active in Blind Brook school district committees, she hopes to bring "fresh perspective" to the board.

"Many Board members don’t ask enough questions before voting on matters that they consider," said Blind Brook school board candidate Wendy Adler. She thinks her background has prepared her to take a different approach.
"As a former journalist, I know how to ask questions that get to the heart of the matter. As a former corporate attorney, I know how to examine all sides of the issues. I will provide a thoughtful, reasonable and fiscally responsible approach to all issues addressed by the Blind Brook Board of Education."
Adler has lived in Rye Brook for almost three years with her family, including 3 children currently enrolled in the district: one middle-schooler in grade 8 and two high schoolers in grades 10 and 12.

Adler has not served in public office before, but has relevant experience. She was a trustee at Solomon Schecter Day School of Essex and Union in West Orange, New Jersey– now renamed Golda Och Academy– for three years when her children attended.
Adler has also been active in the Blind Brook school district, serving on three committees: the Citizens’ Budget Advisory Committee, the Academic Integrity Committee, and the Shared Decision-Making Committee of Blind Brook High School. She also regularly attends board meetings, PTA and Project Prevention meetings.

Adler thinks new energy and "fresh perspective on past practices"are important qualities she can provide. "We need more Board members who are genuinely engaged in everything they are doing," she said. "I am eager to infuse energy and create a positive environment that encourages community involvement."
"Rather than run on specific issues, I am running on an approach that will better serve the district and the Blind Brook Board of Education in addressing all issues," said Adler. "I will take an active interest in all matters that come before the Board and be open-minded in evaluating the relevant considerations."
