3 Injured, 1 Critically In Farmingville Crash Involving SUV: Cops

A 45-year-old woman's Jetta was struck by a Hyundai Santa Fe and she was taken to Stony Brook Hospital for treatment, police said.

FARMINGVILLE, NY — A 45-year-old Patchogue woman was critically injured when her car was struck by an SUV in Farmingville on Saturday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

Gilma Liceth-Perez was driving a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta southbound on Leeds Boulevard, while making a left turn onto Portion Road, when the car was struck by a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe traveling westbound on Portion Road just before 2 p.m., according to police.

Liceth-Perez was taken by the Farmingville Fire Department to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was listed in critical condition, police said, adding that her passenger, Dayanara Perez-Reyes, 19, of Patchogue, and the Hyundai's driver, Emma Vilmenay, 20, of Babylon, were also taken there, but for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said.
