1. Sachem Central School District appoints Patricia Trombetta as new deputy superintendent. She's been with the district since 2006, formerly serving as the assistant deputy superintendent. Trombetta has also held the principal and assistant principal position in the district. (Sachem Patch)
2. Group of four beats up man, shoots him with BB gun. The group included two teens, who beat up a man with a baseball bat, kicked him, and then shot him with a BB gun at Larry's Landing on Lake Shore Road Wednesday night. All four were charged with first-degree gang assault and first- and second-degree assault. The incident didn't appear to be gang or drug related, according to police. (Sachem Patch)
3. Police and first responders helped mom deliver baby boy at a home on Pond Road Sunday. Police responded to a 911 call around 1:20 p.m. regarding a mother in labor and the baby in distress. "5th Precinct officers Michael Coyne and Michael Ferrara, along with members of the Lakeland Fire Department, responded to aid a midwife and the woman's husband in helping the mom deliver the baby."
