Bayport-Blue Point Students Hold Food Drives

Students work to give back to the community.

As the holiday season approaches, students and staff members throughout the Bayport-Blue Point School District are working to give back to the surrounding community.

James Wilson Young Middle School student council coordinated a two-week food drive for the Our Lady of Snow food pantry and Patchogue Soup Kitchen. With the support of all participants, the school collected nearly 2,000 non-perishable food items for the cause.

Bayport-Blue Point High School’s Interact Club also coordinated a non-perishable food drive. The items collected during this program were sent to the Sayville Food Pantry and the Our Lady of Snow food pantry.

The homeroom that collected the most items, at each school and per grade level, was rewarded with a bagel breakfast.
