Blue Point Resident Honored for 45 Years of Service to Suffolk County Community College

Suffolk County Community College’s Ammerman Campus Executive Dean George Tvelia, at right, was recognized by College President Dr. Shaun L. McKay, at left, and Associate VP for Academic Affairs Maria DeLongoria at a recent College Town Hall gathering.

Tvelia, of Blue Point, is marking 45 years of service to Suffolk County Community College -- where he arrived right out of the U.S. Army in 1968. Tvelia has served the college in a number of roles during his nearly half-century of dedicated service in higher education.
