Civil War Re-enactment
The Town Council approved hosting a Civil War Encampment at the Islip Grange in Sayville on Saturday, September 24, and Sunday, September 25.
The event will feature five groups of Civil War re-enactors including the 30th Virginia infantry, the 9th Virginia Infantry, the 67th New York Infantry and the 14thBrooklyn New York Medical/Surgical Unit. In addition, the 10th New York Calvary will perform various tactical demonstrations.

During the weekend, musical entertainment will be provided by Maria Fairchild, Jack Dillon and Kirby Jolly and the Old Bethpage Brass Band, and demonstrations from a blacksmith and broom maker will also be featured. Weismann Authentic Carriages will provide carriage rides to attendees for a nominal fee.
