The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Long Island. No, it's not for snow, although some of that is coming our way.
"There is the potential for high winds late Sunday night into Monday as strong northwest winds develop behind rapidly deepening low pressure off the New England coast," the outlook says.
Wind gusts are expected to reach 45 mph, but could be stronger, the NWS says.

Rain is expected throughout the day Sunday, but the forecast bears watching, says Joe Cioffi, a meteorologist for WPIX and FiOS1.

"What concerns me is the strengthening block to the northeast which will cause cold air to bleed southward from New England southward," Cioffi writes on his website. "If this happens only a little stronger than the NAM model shows it could mean accumulating snow as far south as NYC, Long Island, and New Jersey south to Route 80."
Before we get to Sunday, there's about a 50 percent of light snow on Long Island early Saturday morning. Less than an inch is expected to accumulate, but there's a possibility of 1-2 inches on the Twin Forks.
