Vineyards at Blue Point Sets Unprecedented Sales Records
(Blue Point, NY) –– One of Long Island’s premier residential development companies – is introducing an unparalleled resort-style living community to the region: The Vineyards at Blue Point. Designed by Garden City based development firm Ornstein Leyton Company, the Vineyards will offer active adults the perfect balance of sophistication, comfort and convenience for the fast increasing55-and-over population on Long Island.
Sales have been progressing at a blistering pace at the new community with 48 of the 50 market rate homes in the first Phase sold in just 4 months. With their designer-furnished models completed, the excitement surrounding the community continued in the first weekend of Phase 2 sales, with more than 25 of the available 41 homes being sold, marking a major resurgence in the real estate market and demand for active adult community living on the Island. This unprecedented sales pace hasn’t been seen since before the 2008 Recession and is attributed to outstanding amenities, the quality of the homes, the beautiful natural setting and the reputation of Ornstein Leyton Company.
The community offers 280 residences, surrounded by 28 acres of naturally preserved land and custom designed homes each with 2 bedrooms, 2 to 2 ½ baths, with luxury finishes and fixtures. The 7,500+ square-foot clubhouse, known as “The Vineyards Club,” includes a full time Concierge to meet the needs of the Owners, an outdoor heated pool, fire pit, bocce courts, state-of-the-art fitness center, yoga and aerobics studio, a tot lot for grandchildren, great room, and a bar and lounge “Club Room.” The Vineyards Club will also have on-site physical therapy and will be large enough for events and quiet card games, billiards or just for enjoying a late afternoon cocktail with friends.
Early on, Ornstein Leyton visualized the potential this unique property could offer: a community that would provide high-end amenities and a vibrant social life, as well as a convenient location to shopping and dining. “We knew that our active adult population wanted a fun, maintenance-free, lifestyle community – one that would provide them the opportunity to stay near their children and grandchildren, their friends, their doctors, their spiritual home and more,” said Alec Ornstein, a partner of the development firm. “At the same time, we knew they wanted to live where they didn’t have to get in their cars every time they wanted to visit their friends, take a swim or go for a walk. We designed The Vineyards at Blue Point with our own friends and family in mind.”
Although formerly used as an entertainment venue—it originally housed a drive-in movie theater and then a multiplex movie theatre—the property has been repurposed for a spectacular residential community. It is surrounded by lush vegetation, offering a serene, bucolic setting. Two ponds further add to the beauty of the Vineyards and provide a quiet respite area, along with a nature trail that will surround the entire community.
