Sayville Woman Stabbed To Death By Ex-Boyfriend; Suspect Killed By Police In Massachusetts: SCPD (patch.com) — Sayville residents are learning more about the killing of 62-year-old Rachel Frislid, who police say was stabbed to death inside her Pearl Court home by her ex-boyfriend. Detectives tracked the suspect to a Massachusetts motel, where authorities say he charged officers with a sharp object before being fatally shot. Investigations into both the Sayville homicide and the out-of-state police shooting are still ongoing.

West Sayville Woman Hid SUV After Hit-And-Run Seriously Injured Jogger: DA (patch.com) — Neighbors in Sayville and West Sayville are reacting to charges against a 50-year-old West Sayville woman accused of hitting Sayville jogger Michele Walters on Brook Street, then driving off. Prosecutors say she first sideswiped a parked car, then struck Walters from behind, leaving her with serious leg injuries, and later moved her damaged SUV between Medford, Bohemia, and West Sayville garages. She has been indicted and faces up to four years in prison if convicted.

Sayville football QB Frank Hanley runs wild, defense makes key stops in win at Babylon (newsday.com) — Sayville High School's football team opened its Suffolk Division IV season with a gritty 20-0 road win over Babylon, stretching the Golden Flashes' winning streak to 13 games. Quarterback Frank Hanley ran for two touchdowns while the Sayville defense repeatedly stopped Babylon on fourth-and-short to preserve the shutout and fuel hopes for another Long Island title run.

4. Motorist Dead After Crashing Vehicle into Utility Pole and Bethpage Fire Dept. Station (longisland.com) — A Sayville resident, 41-year-old Michael Peattie, died Wednesday morning after his car left Stewart Avenue in Bethpage, hitting a utility pole and then Bethpage Fire Department Station 4. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and Nassau police say the investigation into the fatal crash is still ongoing.
