Police ID Man Killed in Crash on William Floyd Parkway

A 30-year-old Shirley man was killed in a single-car crash Saturday morning on the William Floyd Parkway, police said.

According to police, Ryan McCready was driving a 4-door sedan south on William Floyd Parkway, just north of Longwood Road, in Ridge when his vehicle veered off the roadway and into the woods, police said.

At 6:23 a.m., a passing motorist noticed the vehicle in the woods and notified police. The time of the actual crash is unclear and under investigation, police said.

McCready was pronounced dead at the scene.
