Police Seeking Hit-and-Run Driver

Police say woman fled the scene of a crash in Setauket earlier this month.

Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the woman pictured above who they say was involved in a hit-and-run crash in Setauket earlier this month.

Police say a woman was driving a 2014 Kia eastbound on Route 347, just east of Pond Path, when her vehicle was struck by a white Mercedes SUV on Aug. 1 shortly after 9 p.m. Both vehicles pulled into a nearby gas station and then the driver of the Mercedes fled the scene prior to police arrival, police said.

The Mercedes, driven by a white woman with long, brown hair and a tattoo on her right ankle, was bearing a stolen New York license plate, AFN 4311, and was damaged on the driver’s side, police said.
