Republican Tom Croci has won a seat in the State Senate.
The current Islip Town supervisor has defeated Democrat Adrienne Esposito in race for the 3rd District seat, according to unofficial results from the Suffolk Board of Elections.
With almost all districts reporting, Croci leads by a margin of 32,362-23,021. Croci will replace Lee Zeldin, who resigned from the senate to run for Congress. Zeldin defeated incumbent Rep. Tim Bishop on Tuesday.
