Lauren Spierer's Family Loses Federal Appeal
Charlene and Robert Spierer sought to hold two men accountable for their daughter's disappearance.

Charlene and Robert Spierer recently lost a federal appeal that would have held two men accountable for their daughter Lauren’s disappearance in June 2011 in Indiana.
The Journal News reports that the Spierer’s had not proven that Jason Rosenbaum and Corey Rossman had a “duty to care” in connection with her disappearance. Lauren, 20, was a student at Indiana University when she disappeared following a night of drinking with the two young men and others.
In part because Spierer and the others had been drinking, the appeals court judge did not find sufficient evidence that Rosenbaum and Rossman were in condition to be responsible for her disappearance.
