10 Years For Suffolk Man In String Of Armed Robberies Throughout County: Prosecutors
Along with his co-defendant, he "terrorized hard-working small business owners, robbing them of their money at gunpoint," DA says.

RIVERSIDE, NY — A Mastic man was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in prison for his role in a string of armed robberies that netted around $10,000 throughout Suffolk County, District Attorney Ray Tierney said.
From October 2021 to December 2021, Jvon Creighton, 27, and his co-defendant, Marcus Brown, 34, of Coram, took part in a string of gunpoint gas station robberies within the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th precincts, prosecutors said, citing the investigation and admissions during his allocution.
In the robberies, the convenience store clerks were held at gunpoint while Creighton and Brown demanded cash, according to prosecutors.

Creighton and Brown pleaded guilty and were sentenced for robberies that took place on the following dates:

- Oct. 26, 2021 – Holla Dollar, Bellport
- Oct. 27, 2021 – 7-Eleven, Ridge
- Nov. 3, 2021 – 7-Eleven, Central Islip
- Dec. 12, 2021 – BP gas station, Islandia

In the final robbery, Brown pistol-whipped a 7-Eleven clerk in the head twice, causing bleeding and facial wounds that required 25 sutures to close, prosecutors said.

Tierney said Brown, who was on parole supervision, along with his co-defendant, "terrorized hard-working small business owners, robbing them of their money at gunpoint."
These were vicious robberies; one victim needed 25 sutures to close facial wounds following a pistol whipping. Such gratuitous violence will not be tolerated in Suffolk County,” he said.
Creighton pleaded guilty in September 2022 to four counts of first-and second-degree robbery, as well as second-degree assault. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, though the DA's office recommended a sentence of 14 years at the time of his plea.
His attorney, Robert Kelly of Westhampton Beach, was not immediately available for comment.
His co-defendant, Brown, pleaded also guilty to first-and second-degree robbery, as well as second-degree assault, but in July 2022. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison in October 2022. At the time, the DA’s office argued for a sentence of 18 years.
