3 Hurt As Car Flips Over In Mastic Beach, Lands Into Utility Pole
Police said the car overturned on West Riviera Drive, south of Neighborhood Road, at about 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — Three people were transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after the car they traveling in flipped over and struck a utility pole in Mastic Beach on Tuesday, Suffolk County police said.
Police said officers responded to a report of an overturned vehicle on West Riviera Drive, south of Neighborhood Road, at about 3:30 p.m. The driver of the 2015 Dodge Dart lost control and the car overturned, then crashed into a utility pole, police said.
Four people were inside the car at the time of the crash, but only three were injured, police said. The fourth person did not require medical attention, police said.

Hours later investigators from Suffolk’s Crime Scene Unit remained at the scene taking measurements of the road and photographs of the car, which was upside down, as well as the badly damaged utility pole.
It is not immediately clear what caused the driver to lose control of the car, but the crash site is located near a deer crossing.

The crash is under investigation, police said.
