Motorcyclist Airlifted After Sunrise Highway Crash

MASTIC, NY — An upstate man was injured in a motorcycle crash on Sunrise Highway Saturday morning, police said.

According to Suffolk County Police, the 37-year-old man, of Amsterdam, was riding his motorcycle east on Sunrise Highway at the William Floyd Parkway in Mastic when he apparently lost control of the motorcycle and crashed at 8 a.m.

He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Suffolk County Police, the Mastic Fire Department and the Mastic Ambulance Company responded to the scene; Sunrise Highway has reopened after the crash, an individual who was at the scene said.
