How long have you been practicing in Smithtown? 20 years.

What is your specialty? Disorders of the nervous system including multiple sclerosis, stroke, diabetic complications, Parkinson's disease, pinched nerves and trauma. Anything involving the brain, spinal cord and nerves.

What injuries do you treat? Traumatic brain injuries and anything involving the nervous system.

What are your activities outside of your profession? Tennis.

What do you like about being a doctor in Smithtown? Smithtown is a nice community to live and work in. It has small town flavor. It has a lot of resources and activities. It's got developing senior centers and a lot of resources for the elderly.

What is a challenging aspect in your work? The usual that every doctor is facing right now. Doing your work day to day without being hassled by the insurance companies and having to get approvals for every time you want to do a test. The insurance companies are always looking over your shoulders and denying needed care.

What words do you have for someone entering your field? You have to do it because it's the only thing you want to do. The hassle factor is too great. It's not nice and fun to practice anymore so you really have to love it as a profession.
